Privacy Policy
Last updated: 22 September 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Brix Job collects, uses, shares and protects your personal information when you visit brixjob.com, create an account, apply for jobs, advertise vacancies or use our career services.
Brix Job is operated by Brix Group International, referred to in this policy as “we”, “us” or “our”. This policy applies to jobseekers, employer representatives and website visitors.
We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Nigerian data protection law. Please read this policy alongside our Terms and Conditions.
1. Who is responsible for your information
Brix Group International is the data controller for personal information processed through Brix Job. This means we determine why and how that information is used to operate our platform.
When you apply for a vacancy, the employer receives the information included in your application. That employer is separately responsible for how it handles its recruitment records, including any copies it downloads or stores outside Brix Job.
2. Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you use the platform.
Jobseekers
We collect information you provide when creating an account, completing your profile or submitting applications, including:
- Account details: your name, email address, telephone number and login credentials.
- Professional information: your location, employment history, education, qualifications, skills, job preferences and salary expectations, where provided.
- Application materials: your CV, cover letters, uploaded documents and responses to application questions.
- Job search activity: applications, searches, saved jobs and job alert preferences, where these features are available.
- Application updates: information employers share about your application, such as whether it is under review or shortlisted.
Employers
We collect information needed to manage employer accounts and recruitment activity, including:
- Organisation details: company name, logo, industry, size, address and website.
- Account contacts: the names, job titles, email addresses and telephone numbers of authorised account users.
- Recruitment activity: vacancies, applications received and updates shared with candidates.
- Purchases: package details, invoices, payment references and transaction history.
Payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not store full payment card details.
Website visitors and other users
We may also collect:
- Messages, enquiries, reports and support correspondence.
- IP addresses, browser and device information, pages visited and referring websites.
- Cookie preferences and information collected through permitted cookies and similar technologies.
- Information submitted to our AI career tools, as explained below.
We identify required information when you complete a form. Without it, we may be unable to create your account, process an application or provide the service you request.
3. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- Create and manage accounts.
- Publish vacancies and help jobseekers find relevant opportunities.
- Submit applications to the employers selected by jobseekers.
- Enable employers to review applications and share recruitment updates.
- Provide requested job alerts, account notifications and service messages.
- Process purchases and maintain transaction records.
- Deliver optional career services.
- Investigate suspicious activity, misleading vacancies, misuse and fraud.
- Respond to enquiries, complaints and support requests.
- Understand how the platform is used and improve its performance.
- Meet legal obligations and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
Marketing emails are sent only with your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in the email. Essential account, security and transaction messages may still be sent where necessary to provide our services.
4. Our grounds for using personal information
We process personal information on one or more of the following grounds:
- Providing a service: where processing is necessary to fulfil our agreement with you or take steps you request before entering into an agreement.
- Your consent: where you agree to marketing, non-essential cookies or another activity that requires consent.
- Legitimate interests: where processing is necessary to operate, protect or improve Brix Job, after considering your rights and reasonable expectations.
- Legal obligations: where we must process or retain information to comply with applicable law.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing lawfully carried out before that point.
5. AI career tools
If you use our AI CV review, CV rewrite or cover letter services, we process the material you submit, your instructions and the resulting drafts.
Relevant information is shared with the AI service provider used to generate your requested result. Before submission, the tool’s privacy notice explains the provider involved and the relevant processing, retention and data-use terms.
Your uploads and generated drafts are not automatically sent to employers. They are shared when you include them in an application or otherwise choose to share them.
These tools support document preparation. They do not make hiring decisions on an employer’s behalf. Review generated content for accuracy before using it, and include only personal information needed for the task.
6. When we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it where necessary for the purposes described in this policy.
With employers: When you apply for a vacancy, we share your application and the profile information included in it with the relevant employer.
With service providers: We use providers for hosting, email delivery, payments, analytics, security and AI services. Where they process information on our behalf, we require them to follow our instructions and appropriate data protection requirements. Some providers, including payment providers, may also process information for their own legal or regulatory obligations under their privacy notices.
For legal and protective purposes: We may disclose information where required by law or where disclosure is lawful and necessary to investigate fraud, protect users or defend legal rights.
During a business change: If Brix Job undergoes a merger, restructuring or transfer of ownership, relevant information may be transferred subject to appropriate confidentiality and data protection safeguards.
An employer’s website or an external application service may have its own privacy policy. Please review it before submitting information there.
7. Information processed outside Nigeria
Some service providers may store or process information outside Nigeria.
Where this happens, we assess the applicable protections and use lawful transfer arrangements, including appropriate contractual safeguards. We obtain your consent where required.
You can contact us for information about the safeguards relevant to your personal data.
8. How long we retain information
We keep personal information for the purposes described in this policy and for as long as necessary to meet applicable obligations.
Our retention periods are:
- Account, profile and application information: while your account remains open, subject to valid requests for earlier deletion.
- Saved career documents: while needed to provide the service and make your saved documents available, subject to your deletion choices.
- Billing and transaction records: six years, unless a longer period is legally required.
- Server logs: up to 12 months, unless specific records must be retained longer for a lawful investigation or legal requirement.
When you close your account, we delete or anonymise information eligible for deletion within 30 days. Information we must retain for legal obligations or ongoing disputes is restricted to those purposes.
Closing your account does not delete copies already held by employers. Requests relating to those copies should be directed to the relevant employer.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may:
- Request information about how your personal data is used.
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
- Request deletion of your information.
- Object to processing or request that its use be restricted.
- Receive eligible information in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on it.
- Exercise your rights concerning decisions made solely through automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.
You can update available profile details through your dashboard. For other requests, email [email protected].
We may ask for information reasonably needed to verify your identity before acting on a request. We respond without undue delay and within applicable legal deadlines. Where a request cannot be fulfilled in full, we explain why.
You also have the right to complain directly to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission. You do not have to complete our complaints process before doing so.
10. Protecting your information
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, misuse, loss and disclosure. These include HTTPS connections, password hashing, restricted access and regular backups.
No online service can guarantee complete security. Use a strong, unique password and keep your login details private.
If a personal data breach occurs, we take steps to contain it, assess its impact and make the notifications required by law within the applicable deadlines.
Protect yourself from recruitment scams: Brix Job does not charge jobseekers to submit applications. Optional paid career services are separate from applying for a vacancy. Never share your bank PIN, password or one-time security codes. Report suspicious vacancies or requests for payment through our Contact Us page.
11. Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies to support the website:
- Essential cookies enable core functions such as signing in, account security and navigation.
- Preference cookies remember choices and settings.
- Analytics cookies help us understand website usage and identify improvements.
Non-essential cookies are used only with your consent. You can accept or reject them through our cookie controls and change your choices later.
You can also manage cookies through your browser. Blocking essential cookies may prevent some features from working.
12. Children’s information
Brix Job is intended for people aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
